(AAP) urges families Not to Buy Fireworks
Fireworks Safety 2009
Each
year, about 10,000 people are treated in emergency
departments for injuries from
consumer fireworks.
The AAP and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA),
with the Alliance to Stop Consumer Fireworks, urge families
not to buy fireworks for their own or their children’s use.
Even “sparklers” can become extremely hot and burn children.
